Operating since 1994, Northwest Service Academy (NWSA) provides valuable job experience in environmental service careers while meeting local community needs across the entire northwest. NWSA service locations and community agency partnerships are extremely diverse: from environmental service in vibrant, progressive urban communities with non-profits or municipal agencies; to field work in some of the world’s most pristine landscapes doing restoration and public land enhancement projects. NWSA’s Links Education Award-Only program connects local communities and individuals with one another to address critical local needs in the areas of education, public safety, the environment and other human needs.

For the program year beginning September 2010, NWSA will be on a reduced program schedule due to not being selected for funding by the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency that funds AmeriCorps national programs. NWSA is working in partnership with several organizations, agencies and state AmeriCorps offices to develop opportunities for members. Please check the NWSA website for current notifications.
